A 1937 Art Deco developing in central Copenhagen has been provided a stately 21st Century identity as The Common—a consortium of 3 restaurants and jazz club—and we shouldn’t be all that surprised by this breathtakingly refined remake. Overseen by the design and style studio GamFratesi (see our current post on the duo right here), The Regular’s restrained color scheme of powdery blues and greys, and impeccably curated mix of furnishings (conventional Parisian cast iron bistro tables Danish Mid-Century pendant lighting Patricia Urquiola’s Nub spindle-back seating and a generous dose of GramFratesi’s own Gubi chairs) reflect a pitch-perfect instinct for melding previous and present in service of something unmistakably Scandinavian, yet altogether novel.
